Steve Gabaldon, PA-C, was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His early passion for sports and healthcare led him to a career that seamlessly blends athletic training, physical education, and medical expertise.

Steve graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training/Physical Education from New Mexico State University. Seeking to deepen his knowledge, he earned a Master’s degree in Exercise & Sport Sciences from the University of Arizona. After completing his education, he became the Assistant Professor and Head Athletic Trainer at Whittier College in California, where he honed his skills in both teaching and sports medicine.

In pursuit of advancing his career and broadening his medical expertise, Steve attended the Physician Assistant (PA) program at AT Still University in Mesa, Arizona, graduating in 1998. He then transitioned into the field of adult reconstructive surgery, joining OrthoArizona, where he has been providing quality care in an adult reconstructive surgical practice.

Steve feels that his new position at BackFit Health & Spine will be an excellent fit for his experience and looks forward to furthering his knowledge in the functional medicine environment. He believes that effective communication and developing individual relationships with patients are key to providing high-quality care.

Outside of his professional life, Steve enjoys spending time with his wife and their two black labs. He is an avid enthusiast of outdoor activities, including scuba diving and motorcycle riding, which help him maintain a well-rounded and fulfilling lifestyle
