Dr. Justin Akiyama grew up in Lakewood, Colorado playing baseball all through high school. In his junior year, he injured his back during the last game of the season. He went to the chiropractor that his baseball coach recommended that focused on therapeutic rehab, and within 4 months, he was feeling and playing better than he ever had. After he was feeling better, he started talking to his chiropractor about school and fell in love with it.

Dr. A continued to play baseball through 3 years at Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska where he received his Bachelors in Exercise Science. He continued to shadow and observe multiple other chiropractors around the area, and all of them went to Cleveland University – Kansas City.

He followed his mentors to Cleveland University where he earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic Degree with Manga Cum Laude honors. In school, Dr. A was able to intern with multiple chiropractors, including several who work at the Department of Veterans Affairs, practices that focus muscular re-education, and practices that specialize in pediatric and pre-natal care. Those opportunities allowed him to develop a passion for function movement and pre-natal care, completing courses in Functional Movement Assessment and Webster Technique.

When he’s not in the clinic, he enjoys spending time playing volleyball and spending time with his Wife and two furbabies.
